Pressed Orchid Pendant

I decided I want to start making jewelry again.  This pendant is made with a pressed orchid and vintage swarvoski beads.  I might start adding these to my shop once they are perfected.  The challenge is not the actual jewelry making but it is getting the orchids to bloom.

Glass Beach

sea glass

   delicious and beautiful breakfast

adorable bed and breakfast

Last weekends trip to Glass Beach, in Mendocino County CA.  The coastline is ankle deep full of sea glass from years of dumping the garbage over the cliff.  It is fun digging through the tumbled glass.  There are glass colors that are more rare than others, like red and colbalt blue.  I bought some flash cards at the Glass museum to study the different colors. A lot of the glass comes from antique bottles and tableware.  You can also find antique pottery pieces, very fun, I could spend hours there.

Golden Afternoon

Every year me and my boyfriend Roger go to the Pacific Orchid Exposition in San Francisco CA.  It is a amazing event full of exotic orchid species.  We came home with several new orchids to brighten up the house.

Cats at the Park

Last Sunday we took our cats Angel and our new kitten Apricat to the park.  It was a nice sunny spring like day, they had a good time, especially Apricat jumping and frolicking around.

Heart Necklaces

Lately I have been playing around with mixed media jewelry.   I took old damaged patterned paper, put it in these heart bezels and sprinkled it with micro glitter..  I am still trying to figure out what size chains and other findings look best with this design.   I want to eventually get handmade jewelry up in the shop.

1920s Corselet

This is a recent find.  It looks very similar to one of the corselets in my 30s ad. This one is made of ivory lace with pale pink garters and elastic. It also has silk ribbon straps and two tiny rosettes, which was very popular in 20s and 30s lingerie.
Can you imagine cleaning a house while wearing one of these? " this will keep your figure trim.....and give day-long comfort as you do your housework".
